Verizon has been in the process of deploying a new update (IMG 1.9) to FiOS TV set top boxes that has proven very popular among our forum regulars. The update not only makes the FiOS TV GUI look better, but it also offers a number of functionality improvements to customer DVRs -- including eSATA support and multiroom DVR browsing -- in addition to other ideas proposed by customers via the Verizon Verizon Idea Exchange. This week finds the company pushing the update to customers in Maryland, Virginia and DC -- an extension that brings the update to an additional 2.2 million households, according to Verizon.
