Verizon Launches ‘Flex View’ Mobile Video – Verizon’s latest implementation of ‘TV Anywhere’
Verizon this week expanded their TV Anywhere Internet video ambitions by announcing Flex View, a service that lets users watch video content while on the go -- via either smartphone or PC. According to the company's announcement, users can access rented owned or personal content by either downloading Verizon's Media Manager, or by accessing the "Featured" or "Browse All" categories under the VOD menu on your FiOS TV set top. The service, which appears to be Verizon's less robust response to Netflix for FiOS TV subscribers, offers a catalog of 1,400 films Verizon says will triple by next year. The catch(es)? This is for FiOS TV users only, there's a very limited number of supported smartphones, you're limited to 5 "authorized" viewing devices, and it's Windows only.
